The Community Business of the Year Award celebrates a business that gives back to the people and places around it, through volunteering, partnerships, local jobs or support for good causes.
The judges look for commitment that is genuine, sustained and making a measurable difference.
Eligibility
Open to businesses of any size and sector, based in or serving the region. Self-nominations and nominations made by others are both welcome.
Judging criteria
- Entries are judged on the difference made to the community
- How deeply it is part of the business
- The people involved and evidence of impact
Qualitative criteria
- Clarity of vision and offer
- Reputation with customers and partners
- Culture and the team behind the business
Metrics
- Revenue and growth
- Customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Jobs created or retained
Additional criteria
- Include figures for the last one to two years
- Examples of standout work and testimonials from customers or partners
